At the Extraordinary General Meeting held on 23 February 2022, La Banque Postale announced that it was becoming a "mission-oriented" company. This is a measure provided for in the 2019 Pact law and which commits it to social and environmental issues.

Social, environmental and governance commitments.

As a company with a mission, La Banque Postale has chosen to include "precise and structuring social and environmental objectives" in its articles of association. It has also created a new governance body, the "mission committee". It will be chaired by the economist Natacha Valla, Dean of the School of Management and Innovation at Sciences Po Paris.

The status of a company with a mission was introduced by the PACTE Act in May 2019. It is a way for a company to express the contribution it wishes to make to society, beyond its economic contribution. This status allows it to include in its articles of association its raison d'être, associated with several social and environmental objectives that it sets itself to pursue in the course of its business. This act formally commits the directors and shareholders to deploying the necessary means (financial, human and logistical) to pursue this mission. Its implementation is monitored by a mission committee, which is responsible for ensuring that it is consistent with the actions implemented by the company. The achievement of the objectives is also verified by an independent third-party organisation (ITO).

By adopting this quality, the company wishes to work towards a just transition by integrating several environmental and social impact objectives into its governance.
